October brings Tales of Hope, collecting the second trilogy in Lovern Kindzierski and John Bolton’s acclaimed fantasy series, Shame, for the first time, in a prestige hardcover format. This collection also includes a preview of Into the Storm, the next book in the series, along with a behind the scenes look at legendary artist, John Bolton’s illustration process from pencil layouts to the final watercolour paintings, a new interview with Lovern on the world of Shame, and the cover art from these stories.

The 2026 Alberta Book Publishing Awards are next week in Edmonton, we have several titles up for awards this year. The Last Band on Earth is up for the Speculative Fiction Book of the Year, once again a graphic novel makes it onto the list against the prose books, go comics! Lily, The Last Band on Earth, and Straight Outta Busan have been recognized for the Book Illustration of the Year award. Lily and The Last Band on Earth are shortlisted for Graphic Novel of the Year. Good luck to all the nominees!

We’re celebrating our second prestigious Canadian comic book award, with Lily by Kat Simmers and Ryan Danny Owen, being selected as Best Small Press Book by the Doug Wright award jurors at a star studded ceremony in Toronto. As well as receiving the honour title for the 2026 VLA Graphic Novel Diversity Award. 

There is also a surprise release coming later in the year, which we won’t mention here because it will spoil the surprise. It’s a fun one!
