Snatching up the threads from the first two books, Raven’s story weaves a tale of blood and fire that leads to an action-packed climax played out on the embattled ramparts of Ironcast, throne of the merciless ruler of the Luddites, Lord Pyke.
Why has the crazed bandit chieftain Zeya delivered Crow into the hands of the Luddites? Will stalwart Podd, with the help of the Baker’s Dozen crew of misfits, succeed in finding his friend once again? And most importantly, will our hero Mordecai Crow finally unravel the secrets of his lost past?
Against the rumblings of war and intrigue, all will be made clear In Blood and Fire, the thrilling conclusion to the Mordecai Crow Trilogy.
Praise for the trilogy: ‘The post-apocalyptic adventure I didn’t know I needed. High-speed storytelling in a well-crafted book.’
Mike Donachie – Toronto Star
Secrets of Jarrow, book 1 in the Mordecai Crow trilogy is the Alberta Book Publishing mystery & thriller Book of the year 2024, ABP 2024 Graphic Novel of the year, and the ABP 2024 Best illustrated Book.
Reviews for Mordecai Crow Trilogy:
‘Suspense, surprise and a stunning visual experience abound in this post-apocalyptic mystery story as humanity strives to rediscover lost history from before the ‘Fall’. A hugely impressive work of art from a virtuoso graphic novelist.’
– Stephen Biesty, author of the Incredible Cross-Sections series
‘The post-apocalyptic whodunnit I didn’t know I needed. High-speed storytelling in a well-crafted book.’
– Mike Donachie, Toronto Star
Cli-fi mystery questions our digital dependence, and survival amid decay.Slavin says part of the inspiration for a post-digital world came from a real-life power outage he experienced. Though he saw people pulling together, he says, “I honestly think we would go tribal pretty fast, but I also think like-minded people would find ways to survive and continue in small groups, like the cloistered inhabitants of Jarrow.”
– David Jón Fuller , Prairie Books Now
